Here’s is the fix that was given to me two years ago. I’m the original poster.
You have not selected the home page template as a front page that is why your slider is not showing. Kindly follow the steps given below to setting it up.
Setting Up Home Page
Step 1: Go to Dashboard >> Pages >> Add New, enter page name and select template as Home Page Template from Page Attribute as shown in below image
Step 2: Publish this page
Step 3: Go to Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading, select home page as a front page
Also, there was an issue on the slider post itself. If you already have your page set to home page, which was my case, please look at the slider post and take a screen shot. Mine is still working fine today. I can’t remember what my son did to the slider post, but he fixed it before I got this response.
